The role of Guest Services Associate at United Dairy Farmers is vital to maintaining the high standard of customer service the brand is known for. This position involves multiple responsibilities including operating the point of sale system efficiently, preparing DipSide items such as shakes, malts, sundaes, and ice cream cones, managing merchandise stocking, and maintaining security protocols to guard against theft or other safety issues. You will also be responsible for store cleanliness and organization, accurately handling transactions including cash, checks, credit cards, coupons, and food stamps, and following all company policies and local laws diligently.
In addition to direct guest interaction, the role demands attentiveness to detail when monitoring product stock levels and expiration dates, maintaining equipment and refrigeration functionality, and participating in reporting duties like accurate time records and customer service documentation. Safety and ethical practices in all activities are essential, including adherence to Tobacco and Alcohol Management and Robbery/Violence Deterrence programs. Management may assign additional tasks as needed, emphasizing the dynamic and supportive nature of this position within the UDF team.

Job Requirements
- Must be at least 16 years old
- ability to speak, hear and understand spoken English
- ability to see well enough to operate store equipment including POS terminal and gas console
- ability to check identification documents and use price book
- ability to understand and operate all store equipment
- ability to prepare DipSide items
- ability to handle coins, currency, checks, credit transactions, coupons and food stamps
- ability to recognize numbers and do arithmetic
- ability to move merchandise to proper display areas
- ability to clean counters and other surfaces
- ability to tolerate exposure to temperatures as low as -30 degrees Fahrenheit for at least 2 minutes
- ability to tolerate exposure to temperatures as high as 33 degrees Fahrenheit for at least 10 minutes
- ability to raise at least 10 pounds from floor to height of 5 feet
- ability to place a 21-pound package into a dip cabinet 3 feet above the floor
Job Qualifications

- ability to move merchandise from storage to displays, freezers and milk box
- ability to clean counters and other surfaces
Job Duties
- Provide the signature UDF Hi Five Guest Experience
- greet guests with a warm and authentic hello
- ensure store is prepared and ready for guests at all times
- anticipate needs of guests and provide assistance to ensure satisfaction
- prepare shakes, malts, ice cream cones, sundaes, sodas and hand-packed containers
- operate point of sale system and gas console accurately
- register transactions including coins, currency, checks, credit cards, coupons and food stamps
- stock shelves, displays, milk box and freezers
- ensure dip cabinet is filled and looks presentable
- maintain stock rotation and check expiration dates
- maintain awareness of guests to minimize shoplifting and gas drive-offs
- control cash levels using proper drop procedures
- perform vendor log-in
- follow Tobacco/Alcohol Management and Robbery/Violence Deterrence programs
- keep store and parking lot clean and organized
- clean store equipment
- monitor product and refrigeration equipment temperatures
- complete time records and Customer First Document accurately
- perform other duties as assigned by management
