This distinguished hotel brand is renowned for offering its guests a refined and luxurious hospitality experience across gateway cities and unique resort destinations worldwide. With over 100 properties globally, JW Marriott stands out by prioritizing the well-being and growth of its associates, fostering an environment where employees can thrive professionally and personally. JW Marriott Portland embraces the values of its founder, J. Willard Marriott, by cultivating a workplace that champions confidence, innovation, and genuine service as part of its legacy.

JW Marriott is committed to providing a workplace culture that values diversity, inclusion, and equal opportunity. The hotel believes that happy employees translate to satisfied guests, underlining the importance of a supportive and collaborative team atmosphere. Associates at JW Marriott enjoy opportunities for professional development, training, and recognition, all within a luxurious environment that promotes holistic well-being. This commitment, referred to as "The JW Treatment™," ensures that every team member feels valued and equipped to deliver exceptional guest service.

The Front Desk Agent role at JW Marriott Portland is a non-management, full-time position integral to the hotel's guest services operations. Located at 1401 SW Naito Pkwy, this role requires a professional individual who will be the first point of contact for guests, delivering thoughtful and attentive service in alignment with the brand's promise of "Wonderful Hospitality. Always."

In this role, the Front Desk Agent will handle the entire guest check-in and check-out process, including room assignments and any guest requests for late check-outs or room changes. The agent is responsible for securing payments, issuing and reissuing room keys, and ensuring billing accuracy by verifying rates against market codes and adjusting bills as necessary. Effective communication with housekeeping and other departments is essential to ensure room availability and address any guest concerns promptly. The agent will also manage the telephone switchboard, answer guest calls, and arrange transportation when needed, ensuring that every guest’s needs are met with professionalism and genuine care.

Beyond transactional duties, the Front Desk Agent at JW Marriott Portland will uphold company policies related to safety, confidentiality, and asset protection. They will contribute to a positive guest experience by welcoming guests warmly, assisting individuals with disabilities, and thoughtfully anticipating guest needs. The role demands clear, professional communication, along with the ability to work collaboratively with team members to achieve common goals. Physical tasks include standing, sitting, or walking for extended periods and handling items up to 10 pounds without assistance. Additional responsibilities include cash handling, bank reconciliation at shift changes, and reporting any discrepancies or security concerns to the appropriate personnel.

At JW Marriott Portland, the Front Desk Agent serves as an ambassador of the brand, embodying its dedication to superior hospitality while working alongside a diverse and dedicated team. This position offers an excellent opportunity for individuals seeking to begin their careers in hospitality with a prestigious and globally recognized hotel brand.
