The Guest Services Agent (GSA) role at Sonesta International Hotels is critical in delivering on the company’s mission and success. The GSA acts as the first point of contact for guests, serving as the face and representative of the Sonesta brand. This position includes managing front desk operations during their shift and supporting the Operations Manager. The GSA ensures smooth guest relations and oversees front desk technology systems, contributing significantly to guest satisfaction and operational efficiency. Responsibilities range from registering guests and issuing room keys to handling cash and credit card transactions accurately. The GSA must promote teamwork, uphold security protocols, and follow legal compliance regarding hospitality and beverage service. Job Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- one year of previous hotel experience or retail customer service preferred
- background from extended stay industry preferred
- ability to speak, read, and write fluent English
- professional verbal and written communication skills
- mathematical skills including basic math, budgeting, profit/loss concepts, percentages, and variances preferred
- problem solving, reasoning, motivating, organizational and training abilities preferred
- experience with Microsoft Office and Opera systems preferred
- required to obtain ServSafe certification
- may be required to obtain TIPS certification
- valid driver's license
- frequently standing up, bending, climbing, kneeling, and moving about the facility
- carrying, lifting or pulling items weighing up to 50 pounds
- frequently handling objects and equipment
- standing for extended periods of time
- required to work mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays

Job Duties
- Deliver on the promise of Sonesta service in all guest interactions according to Sonesta G.U.E.S.T. standards
- register guests, issue room keys, and provide information on hotel services and room locations
- answer phones promptly and courteously
- accurately process cash and credit card transactions in accordance with established procedures, including posting charges and preparing deposits
- maintain security of cash, credit card transactions, and guest information
- book guest reservations for individuals and groups by phone or internally, process cancellations, revisions, and update information
- up-sell rooms to maximize revenue
- follow seasonal reservation strategies regarding room type and pricing
- promote teamwork and quality service through daily communication with other shifts and management
- service the shoppe and pour by ensuring guest service and compliance with local alcohol laws
- fulfill guest special requests and ensure proper delivery of guest services
- issue, control, and release guest safe-deposit boxes
- comply with federal, state, and local laws regarding health, safety, and alcohol service
- perform other assigned duties as needed
