The hotel is well-known in the hospitality industry for its high standards of service, safe and secure environment, and attention to detail in guest relations. This is an excellent opportunity for candidates interested in a part-time or full-time role working $16.50 per hour, with the possibility to become an integral part of a dynamic team that prioritizes guest satisfaction and operational excellence.
The Guest Service Representative plays a vital role as the face of the hotel, representing the establishment throughout the guest's stay. The central responsibility involves handling sales and customer service functions related to guest registrations, reservations, and revenue collections. The role requires a professional who can assure guests of a safe, comfortable stay with a friendly and attentive service approach, ensuring seamless check-ins and check-outs while accommodating special requests.
This position demands excellent communication skills in English to assist a diverse guest population effectively. The representative manages critical duties such as greeting and registering guests, offering room assignments, managing pre-registrations, and collaborating with housekeeping and other departments to meet guests' unique requirements. Acting as a liaison between management and guests, this role involves promptly addressing guest special requests and complaints and ensuring satisfactory resolution.
Performing with professionalism and efficiency, the Guest Service Representative is also expected to maintain accurate handling of cash, checks, and credit card payments in adherence to company policies. They must be proficient in the property management system (PMS), posting various charges, computing bills, and processing payments. Knowledge of hotel services, rates, frequent stay club benefits, cancellation procedures, and promotional offers is essential to promote guest loyalty and maximize revenue.
Safety and security play a critical role, with responsibilities including maintaining guest privacy, key control, and ensuring the front desk area is neat and hazard-free. The Guest Service Representative must follow safety standards rigorously, reporting or correcting any hazardous situations immediately. This position also supports other hotel functions such as assisting in food and beverage areas during busy times, handling mail and messages for guests, maintaining a tidy business center, and managing wake-up call systems.
Furthermore, the role involves identifying potential sales leads through guest interaction and coordinating with the sales team and management to promote future visits and services. The Guest Service Representative contributes to hospitality programs and upholds the company’s standards and policies, including proper dress code, emergency procedures, and work rules outlined in the Associate Handbook. Physical requirements include the ability to lift and carry weights up to 25 pounds and push or pull up to 50 pounds. Certification in responsible alcohol service is necessary for properties serving alcohol.
Overall, this role offers a challenging and rewarding opportunity for individuals passionate about hospitality, guest services, and working in a fast-paced hotel environment. The hotel encourages applications from motivated candidates eager to contribute to a positive guest experience while growing their career in the hospitality industry.
