Job Description
Gaylord Hotels, a premier brand within Marriott International, is renowned for its exceptional meeting and event spaces, offering guests more than just a traditional hotel experience. Located at 2800 Opryland Dr, Nashville, Tennessee, Gaylord Hotels brings a unique blend of creativity, hospitality, and dedication to service through its team known as STARs. These individuals are not only passionate about providing heartfelt and thoughtful service but also thrive in an environment that celebrates diversity, encourages personal growth, and emphasizes a culture of inclusion and respect.
As part of Marriott International, Gaylord Hotels uphold a strong commitment to equal opportunity employment, welcoming associates from diverse backgrounds, and ensuring a workplace where everyone feels valued and supported. The organization actively promotes a nondiscriminatory environment respecting disability, veteran status, and other legally protected characteristics. Joining Gaylord Hotels means becoming part of a global family where the fusion of varied talents and experiences enriches the workplace culture and drives exceptional guest experiences.
The role available is for a Part-Time Non-Management position within the Rooms & Guest Services Operations department. The position offers an hourly wage of $19.50 and is based on-site at the Nashville location, requiring a professional yet friendly demeanor suited for a hospitality setting.
This opportunity is ideal for individuals interested in being the frontline contact for guest communications, specifically operating the telephone switchboard to manage incoming calls efficiently. Responsibilities include processing guest requests for various services such as wake-up calls, caller identification, and other call-related inquiries. The role involves relaying messages accurately and promptly to guest rooms as requested, managing all guest queries, concerns, and service requests by documenting and coordinating with the appropriate hotel departments like bell services or housekeeping. Effective follow-up ensures that guest needs are resolved satisfactorily.
Beyond call handling, this position involves providing guests with information regarding room features, hotel amenities, and local points of interest to enhance the guest experience. Employees also assist guests with internet access and report any accidents, unsafe conditions, or workplace concerns to management, contributing to a safe and welcoming environment.
The job requires adherence to company policies, maintaining a professional appearance and confidentiality of proprietary information, and safeguarding company assets. The role demands excellent communication skills, both in person and over the phone, using appropriate protocols and clear language. Employees are expected to cultivate positive working relationships, support team objectives, and uphold the quality assurance standards set by the company.
Physically, the position entails activities such as standing, sitting, or walking for extended periods and the ability to move or handle objects weighing up to 10 pounds without assistance. Flexibility and willingness to perform reasonable additional duties assigned by supervisors are essential.
Joining Gaylord Hotels provides a dynamic work environment where employees are encouraged to perform their best work, embrace their purpose, and develop their career within a global and culturally rich team. This role offers an opportunity to contribute to memorable guest experiences while growing professionally within one of the world's leading hospitality groups.
