This role as a Front Desk Associate at DKN is integral to the daily functioning of the hotel's front of house operations. The position is designed for individuals who possess courteous communication skills, excellent organizational abilities, and have a flair for delivering outstanding customer service. The Front Desk Associate serves as the first and last point of contact for hotel guests, ensuring that check-in and check-out procedures are handled efficiently and warmly. Responsibilities include accurately managing guest accounts and transactions, answering inquiries, processing mail and messages, and coordinating with other departments to enhance overall guest experience. The role requires someone dependable, with at least one year of related experience and competency in front desk operations, basic accounting, cash handling, and computer skills. English proficiency and the ability to prioritize and organize tasks effectively are essential. This position involves physical activity such as standing for extended periods and occasional lifting. Job Qualifications

  • Minimum of one year related experience preferred
  • Knowledge of hotel front desk operations and procedures desirable
  • Good customer service skills
  • Strong communication skills both written and verbal
  • Basic accounting knowledge
  • Proficient in typing and computer skills
  • Experience with cash register operations
  • Dependable and trustworthy

Job Duties

  • Maintain a friendly, cheerful and courteous demeanor at all times while providing personalized service to hotel guests
  • Communicate effectively with guests and fellow team members
  • Greet arriving guests and complete established check-in procedures to ensure guest satisfaction
  • Facilitate guest departures by following established check-out procedures and determining room availability
  • Regularly calculate and post monies, receipts and guest accounts using proper cash handling methods
  • Courteously answer inquiries and accept reservations in person and over the phone using DKN reservation guidelines
  • Maintain good guest relations and be knowledgeable about all in-house and area functions
  • Operate PBX equipment to manage incoming and outgoing calls and set wake-up calls
  • Control cash and credit transactions at the front desk and maintain responsibility for the personal bank
  • Process all guest mail, messages and faxes to ensure timely receipt by guests
  • Contribute to and maintain communication sources such as log books to enhance operations
  • Assist other team members and departments to promote team performance
  • Deliver DKN’s Home Away From Home experience
  • Perform other duties as assigned by management
