Job Description

Sonesta International Hotels is a prominent hospitality company recognized as the 8th largest hotel company in the United States and continues to grow rapidly. Sonesta operates a diverse portfolio comprising both full-service and focused hotels located in major cities across the country and worldwide. The company boasts ownership, management, and franchise of more than 1000 properties spanning eight countries, establishing a strong international presence. Known for its commitment to delivering exceptional hospitality experiences, Sonesta is driven by the human element of service. It emphasizes service with passion, loyalty with purpose, and creating meaningful connections with guests. This deep-rooted dedication prompts the brand's mission to bring quality, value, and outstanding hospitality to every guest and every stay. Sonesta achieves this through its uniquely diverse selection of hotels, offering guests relaxation and enjoyment regardless of their travel needs or destinations.

The role of the Guest Services Agent (GSA) at Sonesta International Hotels is integral to the hotel’s daily operations and guest satisfaction. Serving as the face of the hotel, the GSA is the first point of contact for guests, embodying the brand’s hospitality standards from the moment guests enter the property. This position is responsible not only for managing the front desk activities but also supporting the Operations Manager and maintaining Front Desk technology systems. The Guest Services Agent carries out essential tasks such as registering guests, issuing room keys, and providing accurate information related to hotel services and accommodations. Accuracy in processing cash and credit card transactions and safeguarding sensitive guest information are critical components of the role, ensuring trust and security.

Additionally, the GSA manages booking reservations for both individual guests and groups, applying upselling techniques to optimize room revenue in line with the hotel’s seasonal demand strategies. Coordination and effective communication with various hotel departments and shifts foster a teamwork environment aimed at delivering quality service. Beyond administrative duties, the GSA is responsible for promoting and delivering services in hotel outlets like the shoppe and pour, following all relevant legal regulations concerning alcohol sales and health and safety standards. The role requires flexibility to work various shifts, including mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays, and involves physical activity such as standing for extended periods and handling items of moderate weight.

Sonesta International Hotels offers competitive pay and a comprehensive benefits package to support the well-being of its employees and their families. Recognizing the importance of benefits in securing the health and financial stability of staff, Sonesta provides medical, dental, and vision insurance, health savings accounts with company match, a 401(k) retirement plan with company match, paid vacation and sick leave, hotel discounts, educational assistance, paid parental leave, and company-paid life insurance and disability coverage. Additional perks include various employee discounts and supplementary insurance options such as hospital indemnity, critical illness, and accident insurance.

At Sonesta, equal employment opportunity is a core value, and applicants are guaranteed consideration without regard to race, color, religion, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity, national origin, disability status, protected veteran status, or other protected characteristics. Applicants are advised to submit a complete application with a resume to be considered. This opportunity at Sonesta International Hotels is perfect for individuals passionate about hospitality, eager to contribute to a team environment, and committed to providing exceptional service to diverse guests in an expanding global hotel brand.
