Job Description
The Salvation Army is a global charitable organization and church known for its dedication to helping individuals and communities in need through a variety of social services, programs, and spiritual support. Established with a religious purpose, The Salvation Army operates numerous centers and facilities aimed at delivering critical assistance, fostering community engagement, and promoting positive development. Among these is the Kroc Center and Railton Place, two key locations that offer diverse programs, recreational opportunities, and community support services to enrich the lives of those they serve. As a faith-based organization, The Salvation Army embraces a mission-driven work environment focused on compassion, integrity, and community service.
The Guest Relations Associate role at The Salvation Army is a vital position within the Kroc Center and Railton Place, responsible for providing outstanding customer service experiences to guests and members. This role plays a crucial part in welcoming and assisting visitors, managing membership and program sales, and ensuring the security and smooth operation of the facilities. The Guest Relations Associate engages directly with guests by greeting them warmly, processing inquiries, and offering detailed information about the center's programs and services. Additionally, this position involves handling administrative duties such as filing, data entry, and managing communications, with a strong emphasis on confidentiality and accuracy.
Beyond customer service, the Guest Relations Associate is instrumental in maintaining the safety and security of the facilities by monitoring authorized entry, observing security cameras, and addressing emergency situations promptly and efficiently. The role requires a proactive, organized approach to ensure that all events and activities run smoothly and on time. This individual also supports the property management team by accurately documenting work orders, incident reports, and handling mail and packages. The position demands physical capability to lift up to 25 pounds, usually related to handling file boxes, and calls for a confident, friendly demeanor to foster a welcoming atmosphere for all guests.
Ideal candidates for this position will possess strong communication skills both in person and digitally, exhibit poise and good judgment under pressure, and demonstrate self-motivation and enthusiasm. Proficiency in computer use, including point-of-sale (POS) systems, is important, and bilingual abilities in Spanish, Arabic, Cantonese/Mandarin, or Vietnamese are preferred but not required. This part-time or full-time position aligns with The Salvation Army's mission-driven environment and offers the unique opportunity to be part of a faith-based organization committed to community service and religious purpose.
