Job Requirements

  • At least one year of customer service experience is preferred
  • Ability to uphold the high standards of Cleveland Metroparks by actions, appearance and attitude always and in all places
  • Ability to develop and maintain effective working relationships with stakeholders, including employees and the public
  • Ability to speak and write clearly, concisely and persuasively using correct grammar, spelling and punctuation with the ability to communicate one-on-one or in group settings
  • Ability to perform work with a high degree of accuracy and organization
  • Ability to work cooperatively with others
  • Ability to perform with considerable independence and initiative

Job Qualifications

Job Duties

  • Operate computer-based ticketing system to record fees from admission and other services
  • Provide quality guest service and ensure accurate point of sale transactions
  • Organize information for registered groups and individuals picking up tickets
  • Provide information to visitors regarding special events or activities and location of animal exhibits
  • Accurately verifies tickets for correct type, time, and date, ensuring only authorized guests are admitted to the Zoo and designated exhibits
  • Engage guests in a friendly and positive manner
  • Provides access control for the giraffe feeding, bird feeding, and contact yard areas as needed to ensure a safe and enjoyable guest experience
  • Keeps direct supervisor promptly informed of key/significant issues or concerns
  • Carries out duties and responsibilities in a safe and efficient manner to maintain a safe work environment and surrounding area for oneself, co-workers and public
  • Responds to hazardous situations and/or potentially unsafe conditions by taking corrective action as capable and promptly notifying supervisory personnel
  • Performs related duties as assigned or apparent
