Job Requirements
- At least 16 years old (15 for some positions like lifeguard)
- Successful completion of criminal background and drug screen
- Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs
- Able to sit or stand for long periods
- Ability to wear character suits and maintain composure in hot, humid environments for up to 60 minutes
- Ability to dance and perform under varying environmental conditions
- Must be enthusiastic and able to perform child-friendly promotional activities
- Able to maintain positive representation of Great Wolf Lodge
Job Qualifications
- Some high school education or equivalent
- Proven customer service and communication skills
- Comfortable speaking, dancing, and performing in front of large groups of people multiple times a day
- Ability to read and interpret English language manuals related to safety, operations, and procedures
- Previous experience in entertainment, dance, or theater preferred
- Charismatic and enthusiastic attitude
- Ability to multi-task and prioritize tasks with minimal direction
- Previous experience as a character or working with children preferred
- Proven teamwork skills
Job Duties
- Personally interact with Great Wolf Lodge guests
- Willingness to perform child-friendly promotional activities on-site and in the community
- Willingness to represent Great Wolf Lodge and its mission and core values positively on and off site
- Perform all branded experiences consistently according to Standard Operating procedures
- Perform high energy brand events and experiences throughout the shift including Storytime, Dance Party, Yoga, Arts and Crafts, Master Magi Ceremony and other Great Wolf Branded experiences
- Interact with families while leading different hands on activities such as arts and crafts, bingo, board games
- Responsible for all aspects of Character Appearances and Entertainment at the property including performing character appearance duties according to standards, acting as a guide for characters, managing costume care, and committing to scheduled character appearances
- Participate in seasonal event activities throughout the year
- Learn new programming including dances, crafts or themed events multiple times a year
- Act as though on stage at all times when not on break, effectively entertaining guests through public performance
- Provide support for community appearances such as sponsors, charities, tradeshows, media and private functions
- Assist Entertainment team with inventory of event and activity materials
- Maintain a safe, clean and professional environment during branded experiences
