This position is primarily responsible for welcoming and seating guests, ensuring smooth and efficient flow of restaurant or bar seating areas. The role involves monitoring the club or dining area for availability, effective service, and overall guest safety and satisfaction. It includes serving food and alcoholic beverages while keeping up with new trends in beverages and local offerings to meet evolving guest preferences. Candidates will handle menu inquiries, communicate effectively with kitchen staff regarding orders and availability, and operate the Micros system for accurate transaction recording at the time of order. Maintaining cleanliness and order of the bar, tables, and supplies is also crucial. Additional responsibilities include preparation and service of beverages upon guest request, stocking necessary items like ice and glassware, and washing dishes and serving utensils. Opening and closing duties must be completed diligently, including the requisition and transportation of supplies necessary for bar set-up, securing inventory, documenting key information in departmental logs, and completing cashier reports while resolving discrepancies. This position also requires adherence to property control audit standards to ensure the integrity of operations.
