Job Description

Residence Inn by Marriott Long Beach Downtown is a part of the globally recognized Marriott International family, a leader in the hospitality industry. Known for its commitment to quality, innovation, and inclusive work culture, Marriott International continues to raise the standards of hotel service worldwide. Residence Inn, specifically, caters to long-stay guests by providing spacious suites equipped with full kitchens, giving travelers a comfortable and homelike environment. The hotel focuses on creating an experience filled with warmth, personalized service, and attention to detail, which has made it a premier choice for business and leisure travelers in Long Beach, California. It operates in a vibrant downtown location, making it convenient for guests who are visiting for extended periods or business purposes. The hotel values a diverse workforce, fostering an inclusive environment where associates from all backgrounds can thrive and contribute meaningfully.

The role of Guest Environment Expert at Residence Inn by Marriott Long Beach Downtown is a vital position within the housekeeping team, offering a full-time, non-management opportunity with a competitive pay rate of $26.00 per hour. This position goes beyond basic housekeeping duties to ensure that every guest experiences a clean, comfortable, and welcoming environment that exceeds expectations. The Guest Environment Expert is responsible for maintaining the cleanliness and appearance of the entire hotel, including guest rooms, public spaces, and back-of-house areas. This job requires a hands-on approach, where physical activity such as standing, walking, lifting up to 50 pounds, and moving supplies proficiently is expected. The ideal candidate is empowered to take initiative and act independently to address guest needs and uphold Marriott’s high standards of guest service.

In addition to cleanliness, this position demands a commitment to safety, professionalism, and adherence to company policies. Maintaining confidentiality, demonstrating quality control, and presenting a polished appearance are all crucial to the role. Guest Environment Experts also play a key role in stock management for housekeeping carts and respond promptly to any guest requests, thereby directly contributing to the guests’ overall positive stays.

Marriott’s dedication to equal opportunity hiring ensures that all prospective candidates are welcomed regardless of background, with a focus on respect and non-discrimination. Working at Residence Inn connects employees to a supportive, team-oriented culture where personal growth and a sense of belonging are integral. This role is perfect for individuals who thrive in active environments and are passionate about delivering superior hospitality experiences that make guests feel genuinely cared for and valued. By joining the Residence Inn team, associates become part of a legacy brand focused on delivering exceptional service to the long-stay market and growing their careers within the dynamic Marriott portfolio.
