Job Requirements

  • Must be able to accurately handle cash register operations and cash transactions
  • capable of working in varying temperatures, humidity, and other environmental elements
  • ability to scan, handle, and move merchandise safely including lifting up to 44 pounds occasionally
  • flexible work schedule including nights, weekends, and holidays
  • reliable and prompt attendance
  • ability to remain mobile for entire shift
  • willing to learn and adapt to company policies and procedures

Job Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred
  • previous experience in retail or customer service roles desirable
  • effective communication skills including use of positive language
  • ability to engage and educate guests about products and services
  • proficiency in operating handheld scanners, cash registers, and other technology
  • capability to work independently and collaboratively within a team
  • ability to remain composed and multitask in a fast-paced environment
  • strong attention to detail
  • knowledge of safety and compliance standards

Job Duties

  • Demonstrate a service culture that prioritizes the guest service experience by delivering the service standard
  • create a welcoming experience by authentically greeting all guests
  • engage with guests in a genuine way including asking questions to better understand their specific needs
  • be knowledgeable about tools, products, and services available in the store to solve issues and improve guest experience

  • scan and bag all guest items efficiently and accurately
  • work efficiently to minimize guest wait time while maintaining service quality and accuracy
  • make guests aware of current and upcoming brand launches, store activities, and events
  • assist guests with Target Loyalty programs and app features
  • manage returns and follow register prompts, partnering with leaders as needed
  • de-escalate negative situations by following company policies
  • deliver easy and accurate service for order pickup, drive-up, and registry guests
  • maintain clean and clutter-free work areas
  • stock supplies during store hours
  • demonstrate ethical conduct, safety, and compliance
  • work safely and identify hazards
  • support guest services including Drive-Up and order returns
  • perform additional duties based on business needs
