Job Description
Target is a renowned American retail corporation, widely recognized for its dedication to providing quality products and exceptional customer service across a vast network of stores. As a leader in the retail industry, Target has cultivated a reputation for fostering a strong company culture that emphasizes values, inclusivity, and innovation. The company is committed to helping all families discover the joy of everyday life through a diverse product selection, community involvement, and a welcoming shopping environment. With a focus on continuous growth and development, Target offers employees meaningful work experiences that encourage skill-building and career advancement in a supportive setting.
The Small Format Team Member role at Target is designed to support the unique needs of Target's smaller store formats. Team members in this position play a critical part in ensuring a consistent and enjoyable shopping experience by maintaining product availability, pricing accuracy, and store presentation. This position requires a versatile individual who can confidently carry out multiple operational tasks such as cashiering, stocking, pricing, and guest services. With an hourly starting rate of $16.00 USD, this role offers a flexible and dynamic work environment where team members engage directly with customers, assist with inventory management, and contribute to meeting weekly sales goals.
In this role, team members become experts in service, operational processes, and efficiency within all areas of the store. By greeting guests warmly and responding thoughtfully to their needs, Small Format Team Members help create a welcoming atmosphere that reinforces a guest-first culture. They are also responsible for backroom organization, unloading deliveries, maintaining store cleanliness, supporting equipment operation, and ensuring compliance with safety and company policies. Each day presents new challenges that require a blend of teamwork, flexibility, and problem-solving skills.
Beyond daily store operations, Small Format Team Members have opportunities to develop retail business fundamentals such as sales trend analysis, inventory control, pricing strategies, and process improvement. Target provides comprehensive training that equips team members with the skills needed to succeed, regardless of prior retail experience. The role's physical demands include the ability to lift and move merchandise, operate technology devices, and maintain mobility throughout shifts.
Target values a diverse and inclusive workforce, offering support for team members requiring accommodations under the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA). The company’s commitment to employee well-being is demonstrated through competitive benefits and a focus on safety and ethical conduct. The Small Format Team Member position is ideal for individuals who enjoy a fast-paced, highly interactive work environment and are eager to contribute to a positive shopping experience for guests. With no application deadline, those interested can join a team that prioritizes growth, respect, and community engagement.
