The Groups Sales Manager position at Renaissance Framingham Hotel & Conference Center is an exciting opportunity for a highly motivated and energetic hospitality sales professional with a deep understanding of the local market. This role is primarily focused on generating new business through direct sales and strategic cold calling, aimed at increasing group bookings and maximizing both occupancy and revenue. The successful candidate will develop and maintain strong relationships with existing accounts while proactively seeking new business opportunities to exceed budget goals. Collaboration is essential in this role, as the Groups Sales Manager will work closely with internal teams including sales, revenue management, and hotel general managers to align sales strategies with overall company objectives and enhance guest satisfaction.

In addition to crafting effective marketing plans and sales strategies, this role includes participation in local networking events that position the hotel prominently within the community and industry. Responsibilities involve solid knowledge of market conditions, competitors, and economic trends, as well as proficiency in communicating across all organizational levels to deliver clear, compelling presentations and negotiations. Beyond sales accomplishments, the Groups Sales Manager also assists in the training and performance support of sales associates to uphold Colwen Hotels' brand and sales standards. Job Requirements

  • 2+ years sales experience
  • Previous hotel experience preferred
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills
  • Ability to communicate across all levels of the organization
  • Excellent listening, negotiation, and presentation skills
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite or related software
  • Familiar with common computer software programs, ability to learn new software programs
  • Reliable with ability to multi-task
  • Ability to work varied hours

Job Duties

  • Develop and grow business through direct sales and cold calls
  • Grow existing accounts and generate new business to exceed budget and maximize revenue and profits
  • Maintain existing account relationships
  • Formulate sales and marketing strategies for assigned hotel
  • Collaborate with sales team, revenue management, and Hotel General Managers to maximize profitability of properties while maintain guest satisfaction
  • Work closely with sales teams and Hotel General Managers at assigned hotels to assist in capturing group business in all segments including corporate transient business
  • Assist in training and support of all sales associates and ensure performance in accordance with established hotel brand/Colwen sales standards
