Job Description

Located in the heart of Uptown Dallas, The Stoneleigh is a celebrated landmark known for its rich heritage and elegant charm. Positioned in one of the most prestigious neighborhoods in Dallas, this historic hotel is undergoing a significant $20 million renovation that will redefine luxury and hospitality. Upon completion in early Q2 2026, The Stoneleigh will proudly join Marriott's distinguished Autograph Collection, a testament to its elevated status and exceptional standards. This transformation will feature expansive rooms, exceptional dining experiences, and a sophisticated ambiance that masterfully blends bold, timeless design with modern luxury. The Stoneleigh is poised to become a premier destination for travelers and locals alike, with an emphasis on delivering unparalleled comfort and style. Notably, the hotel will also be home to the latest culinary venture by renowned Chef Michael White, an acclaimed figure in the culinary world with accolades including the James Beard Award and multiple Michelin stars. The upcoming restaurant, Lions Den, will showcase Chef White's innovative approach to cuisine, combining seasonal ingredients, global inspirations, and a distinct Dallas spirit, with its anticipated opening in early March 2026.

This exciting redevelopment presents a unique opportunity to join a team dedicated to excellence and innovation in luxury hospitality. The Sales Manager role at The Stoneleigh is a critical position responsible for driving revenue growth and maintaining strong client relationships. The ideal candidate will be instrumental in managing accounts to maximize guest satisfaction while meeting or exceeding revenue targets across rooms, food, beverage, and room rental services. This position requires an experienced professional capable of soliciting new group sales accounts, entertaining key clients, and nurturing existing relationships to sustain business growth. The role includes active prospecting through telephone, outside sales calls, and on-site inspections, combined with persuasive presentations, contract development, negotiation, and closing sales. Collaboration across departments is essential to ensure seamless service delivery and a high-quality experience for all clients. With a focus on market trends and competitive analysis, the sales manager will contribute to the hotel's strategic growth initiatives. Job Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree preferred
  • 3+ years of sales experience
  • Previous hotel or hospitality sales experience
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and sales software
  • Strong negotiation and communication skills
  • Ability to work flexible hours including evenings and weekends
  • Must be able to travel for client meetings and events

Job Qualifications

  • 3+ years of past sales experience preferred
  • Hotel experience preferred
  • Advanced knowledge of market trends, competition, and key customers of the hotel
  • Able to set priorities, plan, organize, and delegate
  • Must possess computer skills, including, but not limited to, use of Microsoft Word, Excel, and Delphi
  • Advanced knowledge of sales skills, revenue management, training, and motivation of peers
  • Knowledge of hotel operations, including marketing plans, security and safety programs, personnel and labor relations, preparation of business plans, repairs, maintenance, budget forecasting, quality assurance programs, hospitality law, and long-range planning
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to adapt communication style to suit different audiences, such as effectively communicating with supervisors, coworkers, public etc

Job Duties

  • Solicit new and existing accounts to meet and exceed revenue goals through telephone prospecting, outside sales calls, site inspections and written communication
  • Advanced level of producing room, banquet, and room rental revenue through directly soliciting business via aggressive prospecting, making presentations, developing contracts, negotiating, and closing sales
  • Maximize revenue by selling all facets of the hotel, both orally and in written form to previous, current, and potential clients
  • Handle account details so that all pertinent aspects of solicitation and closing are complete and documented
  • Coordinate various departments' participation in servicing accounts
  • Develop and conduct persuasive verbal sales presentations to prospective clients
  • Prepare information for, meet with, and entertain clients as deemed appropriate by potential business from that account
  • Communicate both verbally and in writing to provide clear direction to all departments in the hotel to ensure high quality of service to customers
  • Prepare correspondence to customers, internal booking reports and file maintenance
  • Participate in daily business review meeting, pre-convention meetings, training and other sales-related meetings as required
  • Attend trade shows, community events and industry meetings
  • Advanced knowledge of market trends, competition, and key customers of the hotel
  • Comply with attendance rules and be available to work on a regular basis
  • Perform any other job-related duties as assigned
