Job Description

Marriott International is a globally recognized leader in the hospitality industry, known for its commitment to delivering exceptional guest experiences across its diverse portfolio of brands. Among these brands, The Luxury Collection Hotels & Resorts stands out by offering distinctive properties that are celebrated for their authentic, culturally rich experiences. With over 120 properties spanning more than 35 countries, The Luxury Collection combines more than 100 years of heritage from the historic Italian CIGA brand with a modern approach to luxury travel. This brand portfolio captures the essence of the destination through its unique hotels and resorts, ranging from legendary palaces and remote retreats to timeless modern classics. Each property represents a gateway to local cultural treasures and heritage, crafted to appeal to discerning travelers seeking memorable and personalized hospitality.

This opportunity is based in Los Angeles, California, at one of The Luxury Collection's premier locations. The position is full-time and categorized under the Reservations department, focusing on non-management roles. The hourly pay range is competitive, offering between $32.00 and $35.00 per hour, reflecting the premium standard of service expected at this renowned hotel.

The role of a Group Room Reservations Coordinator is integral to ensuring a seamless and elevated experience for guests and group clients. This position requires the candidate to coordinate and manage group room reservations, collaborating closely with various in-house departments, affiliates, and external group contacts. The coordinator will be responsible for maintaining comprehensive ownership of group blocks, which includes managing pickup numbers, ensuring the accuracy of reservation methods, handling billing procedures, and attending to VIP guests with the highest level of service.

This role demands a deep understanding of hotel reservation systems and general hotel operations. The coordinator serves as a key liaison, ensuring efficient communication and workflow between departments to guarantee that group bookings are handled flawlessly from start to finish. Beyond technical competencies, the position emphasizes the importance of sincere, courteous, and knowledgeable interaction with guests and associates alike.

In addition to direct reservation tasks, the coordinator plays a multi-functional role by mentoring colleagues, leading by example, and ensuring that work assignments meet strict quality and timeliness standards. The role requires vigilance in upholding company policies, maintaining a professional appearance, protecting confidential information, and safeguarding company assets.

Effective communication skills are crucial, including clear telephone etiquette and the ability to prepare and review written documents accurately. The coordinator must foster positive working relationships, support team goals, and respond appropriately to workplace concerns. Physical demands include the ability to stand, sit, or walk for extended periods and handle light lifting, demonstrating the dynamic nature of the role.

This position welcomes candidates with at least a high school diploma or equivalent and requires a minimum of one year of related work experience. There is no supervisory responsibility, making it suitable for those looking to build or expand their career within luxury hospitality reservations.

Marriott International values diversity and inclusion, striving to create an environment where all associates feel valued and empowered. The company practices equal opportunity employment and adheres to all legal standards, including nondiscrimination policies and consideration for applicants with criminal histories in compliance with federal, state, and local laws.

Joining The Luxury Collection Hotels & Resorts means becoming part of an exceptional global team dedicated to creating unforgettable, personalized experiences for luxury travelers worldwide. It is an opportunity to be part of a storied legacy, contribute to the future of luxury hospitality, and grow professionally within the Marriott International family.
