Job Description

Marriott International, a global leader in the hospitality industry, is renowned for its diverse portfolio of hotels and resorts worldwide. Among its prestigious brands is The Luxury Collection Hotels & Resorts, which encompasses more than 120 properties in over 35 countries. This brand is distinguished by its commitment to providing authentic, memorable experiences that reflect the unique histories and cultures of each destination. The Luxury Collection's heritage dates back to 1906 with its origins in the Italian CIGA collection, known for iconic and historic hotels across Europe. Today, it continues to evolve, offering guests personalized and genuine hospitality that anticipates their needs, blending rich cultural storytelling with modern luxury.

The Luxury Collection represents more than just hotels; it offers portals to the unique charms and cultural treasures of their locations, whether they are legendary palaces, remote retreats, or timeless modern classics. The brand's commitment to diversity, inclusion, and equal opportunity is a cornerstone of its values, ensuring a welcoming work environment that celebrates the diverse backgrounds, talents, and experiences of its associates.

The position open at their Los Angeles location, 465 S La Cienega Blvd, is a full-time, non-management role within the Reservations category. This role pays between $32.00 and $35.00 per hour, offering competitive compensation for candidates. The Reservation Coordinator will play a crucial part in managing group room reservations and working closely with various hotel departments, affiliated groups, and external contacts. The role requires delivering sincere, courteous, and intelligent service to guests and associates alike, demonstrating proficiency in all aspects of reservations and general hotel operations.

Duties include overseeing group blocks, monitoring pickup numbers, managing booking methods, billing, and handling VIP guests appropriately. Coordination with other departments and mentoring or leading team members through task delegation, ensuring punctual execution while maintaining quality standards, is vital. The Reservation Coordinator must report workplace accidents immediately and adhere strictly to Marriott's policies, appearance standards, confidentiality guidelines, and property protection measures. Effective communication using clear, professional language both verbally and in writing, along with the use of proper telephone etiquette, forms an essential part of the role.

Physical aspects of the job involve standing, sitting, or walking for extended periods and the ability to move, lift, push, or transport objects weighing up to 10 pounds without assistance. Additionally, the job demands the ability to read and visually verify information from various formats and perform other reasonable duties as assigned.

This role offers an excellent opportunity for individuals passionate about hospitality, luxury travel, and cultural heritage. Working at The Luxury Collection offers the chance to be part of an incredible global team where employees can bring their best work forward, fulfill their purpose, and become the best versions of themselves. The company values diversity and inclusion and actively supports creating an environment where all associates feel welcomed and valued. Marriott International is also committed to equal opportunity employment, non-discrimination, and compliance with legal standards related to applicants' background checks.
