Job Description
Mentor Community Services, a proud member of the Sevita family, is a prominent provider of community-based services dedicated to supporting individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities. With a mission deeply rooted in the belief that every person has the right to live well and that everyone deserves a fulfilling career, Mentor Community Services has been a beacon of compassionate and innovative care for decades. Sevita, the parent organization, is a leading provider of home and community-based specialized healthcare services, with over 50 years of experience and a dedicated team of 40,000 employees serving approximately 50,000 individuals across the United States. The organization is known for its commitment to enhancing the quality of life for individuals facing a variety of physical, intellectual, or behavioral challenges. At Mentor Community Services, employees join a mission-driven team where relationships and meaningful work are at the forefront. The workplace culture emphasizes trust, ownership, and the encouragement to do what is right for the participants they serve.
The role of an Evening Clarks Summit Caregiver at Mentor Community Services offers a unique opportunity to be part of this fulfilling mission. This position is a PRN (pro re nata or as-needed) role, offering flexible shifts primarily between 3:00 PM and 11:00 PM, with an hourly pay rate starting at $16 and the potential for an additional $2 per hour shift differential, depending on location and availability. Caregivers in this role are essential in providing personal care and support to individuals who have intellectual and developmental disabilities, including those who may display high behaviors such as physical and verbal aggression. The caregiver position demands compassion, patience, and a strong sense of responsibility, as caregivers assist with personal hygiene, behavioral support, and helping participants achieve developmental goals related to budgeting, exercise, and nutrition.
Caregivers at Mentor Community Services experience a rewarding work environment where they develop meaningful relationships and are trusted by leadership to make decisions that best support the individuals they serve. The organization values each caregiver's initiative to help participants engage in the community and enjoy their favorite activities. This role also requires a commitment to professional growth, with a mandatory one-week paid orientation and ongoing training to equip caregivers with the necessary skills and knowledge. Working at Mentor Community Services means contributing to a stable, growing company that values job security, offers competitive pay with pay on demand, comprehensive benefits packages for full-time employees, paid time off including holiday pay, and a robust network of support.
Mentor Community Services, through the Sevita family, fosters an inclusive environment where diversity is celebrated and no discrimination is tolerated based on race, color, religion, sex (including pregnancy and gender identity), national origin, age, disability, genetic information, veteran status, citizenship, or any other protected characteristic. This commitment ensures a supportive workplace for both employees and the individuals they care for. Choosing a career as an Evening Clarks Summit Caregiver offers more than just a job; it is an opportunity to make a tangible difference in the lives of others while also experiencing personal fulfillment and career development within a reputable and compassionate organization.
