Job Description
Marriott International is a globally recognized leader in the hospitality industry, known for its dedication to exceptional service, innovative guest experiences, and commitment to creating welcoming environments for both guests and associates. Among its many prestigious brands, JW Marriott stands out as part of Marriott's luxury portfolio, offering stunning properties in gateway cities and resort destinations worldwide. At Marriott International, the philosophy centers on valuing associates, creating a workplace culture where people feel empowered, supported, and motivated to deliver top-tier hospitality. This ethos, known as The JW Treatment, prioritizes associate well-being, professional growth, and fostering a community that encourages camaraderie and respect among colleagues. Marriott Hotels and JW Marriott in particular are committed to diversity and inclusion, ensuring equal opportunity and a nurturing environment where all associates can thrive regardless of their background or protected status. The New Orleans Marriott, located at 555 Canal Street in Louisiana, is part of this esteemed global network. Situated in a vibrant urban setting, this hotel caters to a diverse clientele with a range of services spanning guest accommodations, food and beverage, event coordination, and more. As a flagship property, it upholds Marriott's high standards of quality, safety, and guest satisfaction. The position on offer is that of a Property Administrative Specialist. This role plays a critical part within the hotel's administrative framework, interfacing across multiple departments such as Guest Services, Engineering, Food & Beverage, and Events. The specialist's responsibilities include providing comprehensive administrative support, preparing documents with various software tools such as word processors, spreadsheets, and presentation programs, and acting as key points of contact for both clients and vendors. Additionally, this role serves as a liaison between the Sales Office and clients throughout the event lifecycle—including pre-event planning, event execution, and post-event follow-up—to ensure smooth, effective communication and operational success. Property Administrative Specialists are essential to maintaining efficient hotel operations and contribute significantly to guest satisfaction by supporting seamless department functions. This full-time, non-management position is based at the New Orleans Marriott and offers an hourly pay rate of $18.50. The role demands professionalism in personal appearance and communication, adherence to safety policies, and the ability to physically handle tasks such as lifting up to 10 pounds and remaining active throughout a shift. The work schedule includes flexible shifts, reflecting the dynamic nature of the hospitality industry. The ideal candidate will have experience with Property Management Systems (PMS), Marsha software, and event coordination, alongside strong customer service skills. Marriott International embraces a culture that fosters positive working relationships and teamwork, encouraging associates to collaborate to achieve common goals and respond appropriately to workplace concerns. Reporting of accidents or unsafe conditions is also a fundamental responsibility, reinforcing Marriott's commitment to a safe working environment. By joining Marriott and specifically the JW Marriott brand, associates become part of a luxury hospitality legacy that spans more than a century, where they can not only excel professionally but also belong to a supportive and diverse global community. This opportunity is perfect for individuals passionate about hospitality and eager to contribute to a brand synonymous with wonderful, heartfelt service worldwide.
