Job Description

The New Orleans Marriott, situated prominently at 555 Canal Street in the vibrant city of New Orleans, Louisiana, is seeking dedicated individuals to join their esteemed team as Property Administrative Specialists. As a distinguished part of Marriott International, the New Orleans Marriott exemplifies excellence in hospitality within a full-service hotel environment. Marriott International is renowned worldwide for its commitment to superior guest experiences, operational excellence, and fostering a workplace culture that values diversity and inclusion. At this location, guests experience a seamless blend of Southern charm and international hospitality standards, making it a sought-after destination for leisure and business travelers alike.

The role of a Property Administrative Specialist is integral to the smooth and efficient operation of the hotel. These specialists play a critical function that extends to supporting various departments such as Guest Services, Engineering, and Food and Beverage, ensuring that administrative operations uphold the highest level of service standards. This full-time, non-management position provides an hourly wage of $18.50, reflective of the value placed on contributing to the daily workings of the hotel.

Duties in this role focus on administrative support utilizing various software platforms including word processing, spreadsheets, databases, and presentation tools. Property Administrative Specialists act as essential liaisons between the sales office and clients throughout the entire event lifecycle — before, during, and after events. Their expertise facilitates seamless communication, detailed documentation, and logistical coordination that are vital to the success of events and overall hotel operations.

Beyond office tasks, this position requires a proactive approach to maintaining a safe and orderly work environment by adhering to company policies and procedures, sustaining quality standards, and presenting a professional demeanor in uniform, personal appearance, and interpersonal communication. The role demands versatility and readiness for physical tasks, including moving objects up to 10 pounds, standing and walking for extended periods, and performing movements involving bending, twisting, stretching, and stooping.

Marriott International’s dedication to equal opportunity employment ensures that all employees feel welcomed and supported, regardless of background, disability, veteran status, or other protected characteristics. The company prides itself on fostering a diverse workplace where the varied cultures, talents, and experiences of its team members combine to strengthen its global presence.

As a member of Marriott Hotels, employees contribute to the pursuit of creating a hospitality experience described as "A wonderful hotel experience, always" through attentive and sincere service anticipatory to guest needs. This role offers the chance to be part of a globally recognized brand with ongoing opportunities for career development, training, and participation in a workplace culture that emphasizes wellbeing and inclusivity.

Further enriching this opportunity is its affiliation with JW Marriott, the luxury brand within Marriott International’s portfolio. JW Marriott hotels are synonymous with exceptional service and a supportive workplace where employees are empowered, innovative, and part of a community that nurtures personal and professional growth. Embracing the ethos of "The JW Treatment," employees thrive in an environment that values their happiness alongside that of the guests, enhancing a shared legacy of excellence.

Joining the New Orleans Marriott as a Property Administrative Specialist means embarking on a rewarding journey where you can excel in your career, align with your purpose, be part of an incredible global team, and become the best version of yourself amidst a luxury-driven hospitality setting.
