Job Description
Redwood Communities, Inc. (Redwood Communities), an affiliate of Redwood Housing, is a respected multifamily property management organization dedicated to managing affordable housing communities across the United States. With a reputation for excellence, Redwood Communities has built a best-in-class team that oversees a growing portfolio of properties. This organization emphasizes building strong collaborative relationships with government agencies and leading nonprofit organizations to elevate the standard of living within the communities it serves. Redwood Communities is committed to making a meaningful impact in affordable housing by ensuring safe, well-maintained, and welcoming environments for residents.
The Groundskeeper (Porter) role at Redwood Communities is pivotal in maintaining the upkeep and cleanliness of the exterior grounds and common areas across the managed properties. This position requires a motivated individual who takes pride in maintaining the property’s appearance and functionality to provide a positive living experience for residents and visitors alike. The Groundskeeper will be charged with diverse responsibilities ranging from landscaping maintenance, debris removal, cleaning tasks in offices and vacant units, to assisting maintenance staff with minor repairs. This role also requires a hands-on approach to seasonal duties such as snow removal and ensuring all landscaping equipment is properly maintained and operational.
This is an hourly position with an estimated pay rate of $17 per hour and includes incentive bonuses based on both individual and company performance. Redwood Communities offers a comprehensive benefits package that supports employee well-being, including top-tier health, dental, and vision insurance plans, a 401(k) retirement plan with company matching, life and disability insurance, and paid time off. The role not only demands strong physical stamina to work under various weather conditions and perform heavy lifting but also requires attention to detail, organizational skills, and the ability to work cohesively with a team to uphold the standards of the community environment. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills are necessary to coordinate effectively with property managers and maintenance staff. Previous experience in groundskeeping or general maintenance is preferred, along with basic knowledge in plumbing, electrical, and carpentry which is considered a plus. Candidates must possess at least a high school diploma or equivalent to be considered for this fulfilling and essential position within Redwood Communities.
