The role of Groundskeeper at The Bailey at Amazon Creek, located in Eugene, Oregon, offers a full-time opportunity to join the Greystar team. This position involves ensuring the community maintains its curb appeal by keeping the grounds and amenities in excellent condition. The Groundskeeper plays a vital role in supporting the service team by performing various maintenance tasks, managing waste removal, and upholding safety standards across the property.

Hourly pay for this role ranges from $18.00 to $20.00, with additional compensation opportunities through performance-based bonuses depending on the property's programs. This position requires active participation in safety and risk management policies, including OSHA compliance and attending safety meetings. Flexibility to work irregular hours such as evenings, weekends, and holidays, as well as the ability to work in various weather conditions, are essential. Additionally, incumbents must be physically capable of handling tasks involving bending, lifting, climbing, and maneuvering weights up to 50 pounds with assistance.

The Groundskeeper's duties include removing litter, debris, and pet waste to maintain neat common areas; assisting in make-ready processes by clearing trash from vacant units; handling routine service requests; changing locks and ensuring pool gate safety compliance; distributing resident communications; and promptly reporting hazards or dangerous situations to supervisors. This role requires strong customer service skills to interact respectfully with residents and respond appropriately to maintenance-related concerns.

Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • prior experience in groundskeeping or property maintenance preferred
  • valid driver’s license required to operate golf carts
  • ability to work in all weather conditions
  • ability to lift and carry weights up to 25 pounds independently and 50 pounds with assistance
  • flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays
  • ability to stand, walk, and sit for extended periods
  • ability to bend, stoop, climb ladders, reach, carry objects, and crawl in confined areas
  • willingness to travel occasionally for training or support at other properties

Job Qualifications

Job Duties

  • Inspect the community throughout the day to remove litter, debris, and pet droppings to keep common areas neat
  • remove trash and items from vacant apartments prior to make-ready process
  • transfer trash to dumpsters or storage areas and clean storage spaces
  • complete minor and routine service requests as directed
  • assist make-ready specialists in unit turn process
  • change locks according to property policy
  • ensure pool gates function according to safety codes
  • distribute notices and communications to residents
  • report hazards or dangerous situations promptly
  • demonstrate excellent customer service by respectfully engaging with residents and responding to maintenance complaints
  • comply with safety and risk-management policies including attending safety meetings and completing OSHA training
