The Groundskeeper / Porter position at Cooper Street Capital is a full-time role requiring the individual to manage grounds maintenance and general property upkeep across multiple communities in the Spokane region. Reporting directly to the Community Director, the Groundskeeper / Porter will be tasked with maintaining the physical appearance and safety of four multifamily communities. This multi-site position involves a variety of responsibilities including lawn care, tree and bush trimming, weed control, snow removal, deicing, painting, trash removal, cleaning, and minor maintenance repairs. The role demands proficiency in operating heavy machinery such as lawn mowers, snow blowers, and deicing equipment under varying weather conditions including heat, rain, and snow.

Job Requirements

  • Prior experience in grounds-keeping and property upkeep
  • ability to lift up to 50 pounds
  • ability to work with heavy machinery, prior knowledge and use of machinery
  • ability to work in inclement weather including heat, rain, and snow
  • knowledge and execution of safety procedures when working with heavy machinery, using chemicals, in inclimate weather
  • ability to work independently and prioritize tasks effectively

  • customer service skills when working with tenants, staff, vendors, etc.
  • physical stamina and strength to handle manual labor tasks

Job Duties

  • Mowing grass, weeding, spraying weed killer
  • trimming trees and bushes
  • assisting with unit flips by painting interiors

  • performing maintenance tasks like changing light bulbs, replacing batteries in smoke detectors, drywall repair, appliance repair, carpentry, plumbing
  • assisting with work orders
