The role of Groundskeeper/Porter at Apartments of Merrimac is essential for maintaining the cleanliness and appearance of the community. This position is responsible for routine cleaning and maintenance tasks in various areas, including offices, models, clubhouse, lobbies, laundry rooms, common areas, and the outdoor grounds. The Groundskeeper/Porter ensures these spaces remain neat, safe, and inviting for residents and visitors alike. The position requires a strong commitment to safety and attention to detail, as the employee will perform duties that involve both indoor and outdoor work under varying environmental conditions. Daily responsibilities include cleaning common areas and vacant apartments, overseeing grounds maintenance, and promptly reporting on work completion to supervisors. The Groundskeeper/Porter also keeps accurate records of work hours, communicates supply needs through the Property Manager, and identifies any maintenance issues that require attention. This position requires flexibility, as the Groundskeeper/Porter may be asked to perform other duties as requested by the Maintenance Superintendent or Property Manager. The job demands physical endurance, as the employee will be exposed to varied weather conditions, from extreme cold to heat, and will need to handle tasks involving lifting heavy weights up to 100 pounds.
