Job Description
Episcopal Retirement Services (ERS) is a leading provider of senior living and care services known for its robust commitment to creating a supportive and rewarding work environment. With a history of being voted one of Cincinnati's Top Employers for 16 consecutive years, ERS exemplifies excellence in workplace culture and employee satisfaction. As an organization focused on enhancing the lives of seniors, ERS offers a wide range of services including independent living, assisted living, skilled nursing, and rehabilitation, all aimed at promoting the health and well-being of its residents. The company prides itself on an award-winning culture that fosters growth, respect, and inclusivity among its team members. Additionally, ERS provides employees with a comprehensive benefits package that includes medical, dental, and vision insurance, alongside wellness perks such as discounted meals and other health-related initiatives. This combination of culture, benefits, and career development opportunities sets ERS apart as an employer of choice in the Cincinnati area.
The role of Groundskeeper at Episcopal Retirement Services centers on maintaining the aesthetic appeal and safety of the organization's campuses year-round. This full-time position is ideal for individuals who thrive working outdoors and take pride in contributing to a clean, safe, and welcoming environment for residents, staff, and visitors. Key responsibilities include performing daily grounds maintenance tasks such as landscaping, trash removal, and snow clearance. The Groundskeeper ensures that all areas under ERS care are kept orderly and hazard-free, enhancing the overall quality of life for the community they serve. A significant portion of the role involves operating equipment safely and efficiently, handling supplies, and working independently as well as part of a team comprised of maintenance staff and other personnel. The position involves physical labor that requires moving equipment weighing up to 75 pounds regularly and sometimes over 100 pounds occasionally. The ability to communicate effectively in English and collaborate harmoniously with residents, colleagues, contractors, volunteers, and government officials is essential. This role also includes participation in training sessions and community meetings, such as resident grounds committees, contributing to continuous improvement in the services provided. Safety is a priority; therefore, the Groundskeeper must hold a valid driver’s license, maintain auto insurance, and be fully vaccinated according to ERS health requirements. Those seeking an opportunity for stable year-round employment with prospects for growth in an organization that values integrity and team spirit will find this role rewarding. Applicants are encouraged to join a team that values their contributions and offers a supportive, respectful work atmosphere where passion for the job positively impacts the lives of others.
