The Landscape Maintenance Technician works under the guidance of the UAMS Landscape Manager and assumes responsibility for the upkeep and appearance of the University’s extensive grounds. This role requires hands-on involvement in landscaping activities, ensuring that the entire campus environment contributes positively to the patient experience, educational pursuits, and research activities. In addition to routine groundskeeping, the position involves addressing emergency situations and resolving facility-related issues that may arise on the campus, demonstrating the necessity for proactive and responsive service.
The role is designed for individuals who possess a passion for landscaping combined with a commitment to serving a healthcare-oriented community. Candidates who thrive in this position are expected to have, at minimum, a high school diploma or GED with at least one year of landscaping experience or vocational training in the trade. They must also have a valid Arkansas driver's license with a clean motor vehicle record and basic computer skills. Job Requirements
- minimum of high school diploma or GED
- at least one year of landscaping experience or trade schooling
- valid Arkansas driver's license with acceptable record
- basic proficiency with computers
- ability to perform physically demanding tasks
- proof of legal work authorization in the United States
- successful completion of pre-employment screenings including TB test and background check
