Job Description
The Reef in Fort Myers, FL, is a premier off-campus student housing community located near Florida Gulf Coast University (FGCU). This contemporary community features thoughtfully designed 2, 4, and 5-bedroom apartments and townhomes that cater to the modern student lifestyle. Residents enjoy high-quality amenities including a modern furniture package complete with sectional sofas, 50-inch flat-screen smart TVs, granite countertops, stainless steel appliances, private bathrooms in every bedroom, and USB wall outlets in every room. The community is committed to providing a safe, welcoming, and visually appealing environment for residents to thrive academically and socially.
The Groundskeeper role at The Reef is a vital position responsible for maintaining and enhancing the appearance and physical condition of the property. Reporting directly to the Property Manager, this full-time, non-exempt role involves a wide range of duties focused on ensuring that all interior and exterior spaces remain clean, safe, and presentable at all times. The Groundskeeper will be responsible for the upkeep of buildings, common areas, amenities, and grounds, including tasks such as litter removal, sweeping, blowing, and pressure washing shared spaces like breezeways and parking lots. The role also involves caring for plants, shrubs, and flowers to maintain a healthy and aesthetically pleasing landscape.
In addition to grounds maintenance, the Groundskeeper will assist with swimming pool cleaning and maintenance to comply with safety regulations. The position includes support for unit turnover processes by trashing out vacant units and coordinating with vendors to uphold quality standards. Providing friendly and professional service to residents—current, future, and past—is also an important aspect of the role, encompassing activities like delivering newsletters and correspondence. Regular property inspections are essential to identify and resolve hazardous conditions or liability concerns promptly.
Efficiency and safety are key priorities, with the Groundskeeper expected to use property resources, equipment, and supplies responsibly. The role may also require light maintenance duties and other responsibilities as assigned by management. This position offers an excellent opportunity for individuals interested in contributing to a community-focused environment while developing skills in property maintenance and customer service within a dynamic multifamily real estate setting.
