Morgan Properties is currently looking to hire a Groundskeeper to become a vital member of its maintenance team at a 291-unit apartment community in Pittsburgh, PA. This role is perfect for someone passionate about maintaining beautiful, clean environments and who enjoys working outdoors. As a Groundskeeper, the individual will be instrumental in ensuring the community’s curb appeal and overall cleanliness, directly impacting resident satisfaction and quality of life.
The Groundskeeper position is a full-time role, working Monday through Friday from 9:00 AM to 4:00 PM with a competitive hourly pay rate ranging between $18 and $19. The role involves a variety of responsibilities including maintaining clean grounds, sweeping walkways, assisting with landscaping, supporting apartment turnover processes, cleaning common areas, replacing light bulbs, handling snow removal, and contributing to the security and professional appearance of the community.
This position also offers the opportunity to respond to weather emergencies and requires flexibility for occasional overtime during such events. The ideal candidate will be reliable, team-oriented, and take pride in their work. While previous experience in groundskeeping, housekeeping, landscaping, or maintenance is advantageous, Morgan Properties is open to training individuals who exhibit the right attitude and a willingness to learn.

Job Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred
- ability to perform physical tasks associated with groundskeeping including lifting, bending, and working outdoors
- ability to follow safety protocols and operate basic maintenance equipment
- good communication skills
- reliable attendance and punctuality
- flexibility to work occasional overtime during emergency or weather-related situations
- valid driver's license and reliable transportation
Job Qualifications
- Dependable and team-oriented individual who takes pride in maintaining a beautiful community
- previous groundskeeping, porter, janitorial, housekeeping, landscaping, or general maintenance experience is a plus but willingness to train the right candidate
- valid driver's license, reliable transportation, and acceptable driving record
Job Duties
- Maintain the cleanliness and appearance of community grounds by removing trash and debris daily
- sweep sidewalks, walkways, and common areas to ensure a clean and welcoming environment
- assist with landscaping duties, including watering trees and shrubs, trimming vegetation, and maintaining curb appeal
- support apartment turns by assisting with trash-outs and preparing vacant homes for new residents
- clean common areas including hallways, stairwells, lobbies, restrooms, clubhouse spaces, and other shared amenities
- assist the maintenance team with make-ready projects and housekeeping needs as required
- replace light bulbs and replenish restroom supplies throughout the community
- help keep the maintenance shop clean, organized, and operating efficiently
- distribute resident communications when needed
- respond to snow removal, salting, and other weather-related or emergency situations as necessary, including occasional overtime
- maintain a professional appearance, follow all safety procedures, and help ensure the security of the community
