Horizon Air is currently seeking a motivated and dependable Ground Service Agent to join their airport team at Santa Rosa, CA. This part-time regular position is essential for the seamless handling of aircraft operations on the ramp, ensuring flights run safely and on time. The Ground Service Agent operates in a dynamic and fast-paced environment, performing duties such as loading and unloading luggage and cargo, marshaling aircraft, and servicing planes to maintain flight readiness. This role demands a physically active individual capable of lifting up to 50 pounds and standing for extended periods, while maintaining a high level of safety and attention to detail.
The successful candidate will demonstrate strong communication skills, the ability to multitask efficiently, and adaptability to a flexible schedule including nights, weekends, and holidays. Job Requirements
- Valid unexpired driver’s license issued by a US state a US territory or the District of Columbia
- Ability to consistently lift 50 pounds
- Must be able to stand for long periods of time
- Must be able to bend stoop squat reach and grasp
- Ability to work a flexible schedule including nights weekends and holidays
- Ability to participate in paid training that may require overnight travel
- Ability to communicate in English
Job Qualifications
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to juggle multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment
- Ability to perform basic mathematics
- Ability to obtain USPS Mail Handling Certification
- Ability to obtain airport security clearance
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Must be at least 18 years old
- Authorization to work in the U.S.
Job Duties
- Load and offload luggage and cargo transporting to various airport locations
- Distribute all paperwork to flight crews including fuel slips load plans cargo manifests and flight releases
- Marshal and push back aircraft
- Prepare weight and balance forms and ensure load integrity by inputting accurate commodity codes and weights into a data entry system
- Service aircraft as necessary including lavatory potable water aircraft grooming deicing and security searches
- Operate and or drive multiple types of equipment such as belt-loaders tugs air-start units bag carts lavatory carts and deice trucks
- Execute aircraft tow operations if required
- Perform other duties as assigned
