Deer Valley Resort itself is recognized for its classic and consistent quality, creating exceptional experiences for guests in a luxurious mountain setting. The resort attracts a broad array of staff members from across the United States and around the world, reflecting a rich diversity that contributes to a warm and inclusive workplace environment where everyone feels valued, appreciated, and welcome. This diverse workforce comprises locals, transplants, seasonal workers, and international students, illustrating Deer Valley’s commitment to fostering a supportive and engaging community for its employees. The resort places significant emphasis on employee retention and satisfaction, with over 1,100 staff celebrating their fifth season or more, indicative of the positive work culture and strong team spirit.

The role of Cook II at Deer Valley Resort is a vital one within the resort’s culinary team. This position specifically supports the sous chef in the preparation and presentation of daily menus, with a focus on creating high-quality specials, including soups, stews, and chilies. The position is located in The Grotto, one of the employee dining rooms, where providing flavorful and consistent food that meets production standards is critical for ensuring staff satisfaction and operational efficiency. The Cook II position is seasonal during the summer months, offering a pay rate of $22.50 per hour. This role demands culinary skills, attention to detail, and the physical stamina necessary to work in a dynamic kitchen environment.

Additionally, Deer Valley Resort offers various benefits designed to enhance the employee experience. Ski perks vary depending on employment status but may include Deer Valley season passes, free skiing or riding at other Alterra Resorts, and select local Utah resorts. Winter staff benefit from friends and family ski discounts, free staff ski lessons, and discounted rentals. On top of these recreational perks, the resort provides subsidized meals in employee dining areas while staff are on shift, with subsidized housing options available for seasonal full-time staff. Staff members also enjoy discounts at local restaurants, shops, and service providers in Park City. Deer Valley Resort cares about the well-being of its employees by offering healthcare options and a 401k plan with company match, underscoring its commitment to supporting not just the professional but also the personal growth and welfare of its workforce.

Working as a Cook II at Deer Valley Resort is an excellent opportunity to join a winning team known for classic quality and a dedication to creating memorable guest experiences. Successful candidates will find themselves part of a community-oriented workplace with ample opportunities for growth, collaboration, and contributing to a top-tier culinary operation in one of the most beautiful and exciting mountain settings in the country. This role is perfectly suited for individuals passionate about culinary arts, eager to develop their skills in a supportive environment, and excited to be part of a dynamic and diverse team.
