The role of Grill Line Cook at Bear Tooth Grill is a pivotal position responsible for the preparation and execution of high-quality dishes. This role requires an individual who not only adheres strictly to the established recipes but also adds a personal touch to meet customer preferences. As a Grill Line Cook, you will be at the core of the kitchen operations, ensuring that every dish is prepared accurately, safely, and efficiently. Your responsibilities will include operating kitchen equipment such as ovens, fryers, and grills while maintaining safety and sanitation standards. Effective communication with other team members is essential to coordinate food preparation and timing to deliver exceptional service. The position demands attention to detail when reading tickets and executing orders, as well as pride in delivering top-notch items each shift. Candidates must be prepared to work in a fast-paced, sometimes noisy environment, and be capable of standing for long periods and handling physically demanding tasks. Available shifts include both morning and evening, and there is a mandatory requirement for availability on Sundays. Job Requirements

  • must have availability on Sundays
  • must be 16 years of age or older
  • must have Municipality of Anchorage Food Worker Card or be willing to obtain one
  • experience is preferred
  • stand for the duration of the shift with minimal breaks
  • work in noisy, fast-paced environments with distracting conditions
  • lift and carry 30 plus lbs
  • work in hot and humid environments
  • have good manual dexterity, coordination, and stamina
  • self-motivation and the ability to manage time and accomplish tasks with accuracy and efficiency
  • multitask and retain multiple called ticket items
  • basic knowledge of kitchen terminology and knife skills

Job Qualifications

  • must be 16 years of age or older

Job Duties

  • adhere to all safety, sanitation, and policy procedures
  • maintain knowledge of menu items and ingredients
  • read all printed tickets carefully with attention to detail
  • accurately produce orders following recipe guidelines and ticket specifications
  • monitor the temperature of equipment and food cook times while taking personal pride in every item delivered for service
  • operate oven, fryer, grill, and other kitchen equipment safely
  • effectively coordinate the timing of the various products and courses for every order regardless of station
  • handle, store, date, and rotate all products properly
  • promptly report equipment and food quality issues to a manager
  • communicate clearly and professionally with all staff in the restaurant
  • complete all opening, closing, and side duties
  • assist with dishwashing and other cleaning tasks as needed
  • work as a team with your fellow co-workers and treat each other with kindness and respect
