Job Description

This opportunity offers a competitive hourly pay range of $20.00 to $22.00, with a Monday through Friday schedule from 5:30 am to 2:00 pm.

The Grill Cook/Cashier role is a vital part of the foodservice operation, blending food preparation with customer service and cashier duties. The position is designed for individuals with some experience in grill cooking, though the company encourages applications from those eager to develop these skills further. This role demands a keen attention to food safety, sanitation, and quality control, as well as the ability to interact with customers in a professional and friendly manner. Responsibilities include prepping fruits and vegetables, managing inventory, ensuring proper food storage, and maintaining cleanliness of work stations and equipment. The grill cook must also adhere strictly to approved food recipes and production standards to guarantee food quality and safety. On the cashier side, duties include accurately processing sales transactions, handling cash and other forms of payment, resolving customer complaints, and maintaining service area cleanliness.

Job Requirements

  • high school diploma or equivalent preferred
  • grill cook experience preferred
  • availability to work full time Monday through Friday, 5:30 am to 2:00 pm
  • ability to stand for extended periods
  • ability to perform physical tasks including lifting and carrying
  • good communication skills
  • ability to follow safety and sanitation standards
  • eligible to work in the United States

Job Qualifications

  • high school diploma or equivalent preferred
  • previous experience as a grill cook or in a similar food service role preferred
  • basic math skills for handling cash transactions
  • strong customer service and communication skills
  • ability to follow food safety and sanitation guidelines
  • ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment
  • cash handling experience preferred

Job Duties

  • performs prep work such as washing, peeling, cutting and seeding fruits and vegetables
  • weighs and measures designated ingredients
  • carries pans, kettles and trays of food to and from work stations, stove and refrigerator in accordance with safety standards
  • distributes supplies, utensils and portable equipment
  • stores foods in designated areas in accordance with wrapping, dating, and food safety and rotation procedures
  • cleans work areas, equipment and utensils
  • ensures compliance with sanitation and safety requirements
  • uses approved food recipes and production standards to ensure proper quality, serving temperatures and standard portion control
  • serves customers in a friendly, efficient manner following outlined steps of service
  • interacts with customers and resolves customer complaints in a friendly, service-oriented manner
  • relays relevant information to supervisor
  • performs sales transactions
  • enters sales into the cash register to ensure purchases are accurately recorded
  • makes change, accepts declining balance cards and other acceptable forms of payment
  • issues receipts to customers
  • follows standard procedures for issuing cash refunds
  • responsible for all assigned change funds and cash receipts, ensuring that cash drawer is in compliance with overage/shortage standards
  • replenishes condiments, beverages and general supplies while maintaining service area cleanliness
  • performs other duties as assigned
