Redlands Community Hospital is a well-established healthcare provider dedicated to delivering exceptional medical and support services to the community it serves. The position of Cook I at Redlands Community Hospital reports directly to the Food and Nutrition Services Director. This role is integral to the daily operations of the hospital’s food service department. The Cook I is responsible for preparing and serving food in various settings within the hospital, including patient services, the cafeteria, and catering events. A significant part of the role involves adhering strictly to established recipes and procedures to ensure food quality, safety, and consistency. In addition to food preparation, the position includes tasks such as setting up food service areas, stocking supplies, washing dishes, and performing cashier duties when required. Cash handling responsibilities must comply fully with the hospital’s policies and controls to ensure financial accountability.
This position offers a flexible schedule, generally involving two days per week (approximately 16 hours), primarily on weekends, with the possibility of additional hours based on departmental needs. The role demands physical capability to meet all job-related requirements, which are outlined in the job description or adjusted through workplace accommodations. Candidates who thrive in this role are expected to have or be willing to obtain a Food Handler’s Card issued by San Bernardino County, in addition to possessing or gaining basic computer and data entry skills to support daily operational needs. Job Requirements
