The Cook position at Aramark offers an exciting opportunity for individuals passionate about food and culinary creativity. This role is integral to the quality and service Aramark provides, involving the preparation and cooking of a variety of dishes using fresh ingredients and state-of-the-art equipment. As a cook, you will be immersed in an environment that celebrates experimentation with diverse cuisines, flavors, and cooking methods. Day-to-day responsibilities include setting up workstations with all necessary ingredients and kitchen tools, preparing ingredients through techniques like measuring, chopping, peeling, and mixing, and using various cooking equipment such as ovens, stoves, mixers, and slicers. The cook will apply multiple cooking methods including baking, roasting, broiling, and steaming to meat, vegetables, and other foods, while adhering to strict production guidelines and standardized recipes to ensure consistency and food safety. Food safety is paramount at Aramark, with clear procedures and guidelines designed to protect employee and guest health. Maintaining cleanliness by sanitizing work areas, equipment, and utensils is a vital part of the role alongside excellent customer service and a positive interaction with guests, clients, and fellow team members. The position may require physical activities like lifting, bending, pushing, pulling, and extended periods of walking or standing, as well as compliance with uniform policies and usage of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) for safety. Job Requirements

  • Experience as a cook or in a related role required
  • validated knowledge of the basic principles of food preparation, various cooking methods, and food safety regulations such as accurate food handling, sanitation, and storage
  • must be able to acquire food safety certification
  • demonstrate basic math and counting skills
  • demonstrates interpersonal communication skills, both written and verbal

  • operates equipment such as ovens, stoves, slicers, mixers
  • bakes, roasts, broils, steams, and uses a variety of cooking methods on meat, vegetables, and other foods
  • arranges, garnishes, and portions food according to established guidelines
  • properly stores food by adhering to food safety policies and procedures
  • cleans and sanitizes work areas, equipment, and utensils
  • maintains excellent customer service and positive demeanor towards guests, customers, clients, co-workers
  • adheres to Aramark safety policies and procedures including accurate food safety and sanitation
  • ensures security of company assets
