The company is currently looking to hire a full-time Grill Cook for its location at Banfield - 18101 Southeast 6th Avenue, Vancouver, WA. This position offers a competitive hourly wage ranging from $20.00 to $22.00 and operates Monday through Friday from 6:00 AM to 2:30 PM. This role is an excellent opportunity for individuals with at least two years of experience in grill cooking and customer service seeking a steady, full-time job in a reputable foodservice company.

As a Grill Cook, you will be responsible for preparing food and serving customers at the grill station following federal, state, and corporate standards and guidelines. Your role requires attention to food quality, safety, and customer satisfaction. Daily duties include taking and preparing customer orders requiring short preparation times, serving across multiple stations, and maintaining proper food temperatures and presentation. You will also be expected to taste food to ensure quality, follow ticket-collection procedures, and maintain accurate records during service.

The position demands adherence to safety and sanitation procedures, including correctly storing food, cleaning and sanitizing work areas, and using approved recipes and standard portion controls. You will be responsible for carrying food pans and trays safely between workstations and refrigeration units, ensuring a safe and efficient kitchen environment. The Grill Cook will also handle customer concerns professionally, escalate issues when necessary, and maintain positive working relationships with coworkers, customers, management, and administrators.

Job Requirements

  • Two years of grill cooking experience
  • Experience in customer service

Job Duties

  • Takes orders from customers and prepares items requiring short preparation
  • Completes orders from steam tables and serves customers at multiple stations
  • Serves customers in an efficient, friendly manner following established steps of service
  • Ensures food is at the correct temperature and is attractive and tasty
  • Tastes all prepared food items
  • Uses established ticket-collection procedures during service
  • Responsible for records from area worked during service periods
  • Uses approved recipes and production standards to ensure proper quality, serving temperatures and standard portion control
  • Carries pans, kettles and trays of food to and from workstations, stove and refrigerator in accordance with safety standards
  • Stores foods in designated areas following standard wrapping, dating and food safety and rotation procedures
  • Cleans, sanitizes and maintains all assigned work areas, equipment and utensils
  • Resolves customer concerns and reports relevant information to supervisor
  • Attends in-service and safety meetings
  • Maintains good working relationships with coworkers, customers, administrators and managers
  • Performs job safely while maintaining a clean, safe work environment
  • Performs other duties as assigned
