Job Requirements

  • Previous grill cooking experience required
  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred
  • Ability to work full time Monday through Friday from 6:00 am to 3:00 pm
  • Ability to stand for extended periods
  • Ability to follow food safety and sanitation standards
  • Ability to lift and carry heavy trays and equipment
  • Availability to work at the Jordan Creek location in West Des Moines, IA

Job Qualifications

  • Previous grill cooking experience
  • Ability to prepare and serve food according to established recipes and standards
  • Strong customer service skills
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
  • Basic knowledge of food safety practices
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to follow safety and sanitation guidelines

Job Duties

  • Take orders from customers and prepare items requiring short preparation
  • Complete orders from steam tables and serve customers at multiple stations
  • Serve customers efficiently and friendly following established steps of service
  • Ensure food is at the correct temperature, attractive and tasty
  • Taste all prepared food items
  • Use established ticket-collection procedures during service
  • Maintain records from area worked during service periods
  • Use approved recipes and production standards to ensure quality, serving temperatures and portion control
  • Carry pans, kettles and trays of food safely
  • Store foods following standard wrapping, dating and food safety procedures
  • Clean, sanitize and maintain all assigned work areas, equipment and utensils
  • Resolve customer concerns and report relevant information to supervisor
  • Attend in-service and safety meetings
  • Maintain good working relationships with coworkers, customers, administrators and managers
  • Perform job safely while maintaining a clean, safe work environment
  • Perform other duties as assigned
