The company is currently hiring for a full-time Grill Cook position at the Mars Snacking location in Waco, Texas. This role is essential in providing premium food service by preparing and serving grilled menu items in accordance with federal, state, and corporate food safety and quality standards. This position requires at least two years of experience in large volume cooking and handling various types of meats. The Grill Cook will work a full-time schedule, Monday through Friday, from 5:30 am to 2:00 pm with opportunities for extra hours. Compensation for the role is set at $19.00 per hour, reflecting the company’s commitment to offering competitive wages.

In this role, the Grill Cook is responsible for delivering efficient and friendly customer service while preparing food items that meet established recipes, portion control, and cooking standards. The ideal candidate will have excellent multitasking abilities to manage orders from customers, oversee multiple service stations, and ensure food safety by maintaining proper temperatures and cleanliness. Attention to detail is critical, as the Grill Cook is expected to taste all prepared food to assure consistency and quality. Job Requirements

  • At least two years of experience with large volume cooking and different meats
  • Ability to perform job duties in compliance with federal and state food safety regulations
  • Availability to work full-time schedule Monday through Friday, 5:30 am to 2:00 pm
  • Ability to stand for long periods and lift heavy items as required
  • Willingness to comply with company policies including drug-free workplace standards
  • Good communication skills
  • Ability to work in a team environment

Job Qualifications

Job Duties

  • Take orders from customers and prepare items requiring short preparation
  • Complete orders from steam tables and serve customers at multiple stations
  • Serve customers in an efficient and friendly manner following established service steps
  • Ensure food is at correct temperature and visually appealing
  • Taste all prepared food items to maintain quality
  • Use approved recipes and production standards for portion control
  • Clean, sanitize and maintain all assigned work areas, equipment, and utensils
  • Store foods according to safety and rotation procedures
  • Resolve customer concerns and report issues to supervisor
  • Attend in-service and safety meetings
  • Perform other duties as assigned
