At Phoenix College, Sodexo is committed to creating an inclusive, supportive work environment where team members thrive and contribute meaningfully to the community they serve. The company values diversity, respect, and fairness, fostering a culture where every voice is heard and every employee is empowered to be their authentic self.

The Grill Cook position at Phoenix College is a full-time role with hourly pay ranging from $16.50 to $18.50. This job offers varying shifts with a need for open availability, making it ideal for candidates who are flexible and motivated. As a Grill Cook with Sodexo, you will be an essential part of the culinary team, responsible for preparing and cooking nutritious, high-quality meals across multiple meal periods including breakfast, lunch, dinner, and special catered events. Your role extends beyond cooking — you play a key part in food waste reduction initiatives by accurately portioning and efficiently preparing dishes according to recipes and health standards.

This position requires a passion for food preparation and customer service, as you will engage directly with customers, often serving food in an a la carte format and operating kitchen equipment such as grills and fryers. Punctuality and reliability are vital, as is the ability to work cooperatively with other team members in a fast-paced kitchen environment. The Grill Cook role extends to ensuring a safe, clean, and efficient kitchen, where health and safety regulations are strictly followed.

Sodexo also emphasizes employee growth and satisfaction by offering ongoing training and professional development opportunities designed to help team members advance their careers. Additionally, the company provides a comprehensive benefits package that supports work-life balance and personal well-being. For example, may include paid time off, holidays, medical, dental, and vision coverage, tuition reimbursement, 401(k), discount programs, and more. Some locations may offer additional benefits like free shift meals, uniforms, safety shoes, and transportation allowances.

By joining Sodexo as a Grill Cook at Phoenix College, you become part of a mission-driven team dedicated to creating a better daily experience for everyone — employees, customers, and the wider community alike. Sodexo’s commitment to inclusivity, respect, and equal opportunity ensures a workplace where diversity is celebrated and every individual’s contribution matters. This role is perfect for someone who enjoys hands-on work in a vibrant food service setting and values a supportive, flexible work environment where their efforts directly contribute to making a positive impact every day.
