We are currently seeking a dedicated Grill Cook to join our team at SONIFI under Sodexo's banner. This full-time role offers a competitive pay range between $7.25 and $25.79 per hour, with shifts varying to include different days and hours; open availability is preferred to meet operational demands. The Grill Cook role is integral to our food service operations, focusing on preparing and presenting nutritious hot and cold food items across multiple meal periods such as breakfast, lunch, dinner, and special or catered events. Candidates will be expected to efficiently and accurately grill, portion, and assemble food items, adhering closely to recipes and quality standards.
As a vital member of the kitchen team, the Grill Cook is also responsible for operating various kitchen equipment including grill stations and fryers, ensuring high standards of food safety, cleanliness, and efficiency. This position emphasizes teamwork, positive customer interactions, and minimizing food waste to support Sodexo’s sustainability goals. Employees in this role are expected to contribute positively to the working environment by being reliable, adaptable, and respectful at all times. Job Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred
- 0-2 years of related experience beneficial
- Basic knowledge of food preparation and cooking techniques
- Ability to follow recipes and portion control guidelines
- Strong team orientation and adaptability
- Good communication and customer service skills
- Commitment to maintaining a safe and healthy work environment
Job Duties
- Accurately and efficiently prepare, portion, grill, and present a variety of hot and/or cold food items for various meal periods including breakfast, lunch, dinner, and special/catered events
- Read and measure/mix ingredients according to recipe(s)
- Prepare food and serve customers at an a la carte and/or operate a grill station, fryer, and other kitchen equipment
- Attend work and show for scheduled shift on time with satisfactory regularity
- Follow food safety and sanitation procedures
- Collaborate with team members to ensure smooth kitchen operations
- Assist with kitchen cleaning and maintenance as needed
