The Grill Cook position at Sodexo, based at DeSales University, is a full-time role offering a competitive pay range of $16 to $18 per hour. This role is integral to Sodexo's mission of delivering excellent food service with a focus on nutrition, quality, and customer satisfaction. As a Grill Cook, you will be responsible for preparing and cooking a variety of hot and/or cold food items across multiple meal periods including breakfast, lunch, dinner, and special catered events. You'll work with precision and care, following recipes accurately to maintain consistency and quality, while also managing food portions effectively to reduce waste. The role requires operating kitchen equipment such as grills and fryers safely and efficiently. Working flexible and varying shifts, open availability is preferred to accommodate the diverse needs of the university dining services.

  • 0-2 years of related experience preferred
  • Ability to work flexible and varying shifts including weekends and holidays
  • Open availability preferred
  • Ability to follow instructions and safety guidelines

Job Duties

  • Accurately and efficiently prepare, portion, grill, and present a variety of hot and/or cold food items for various meal periods including breakfast, lunch, dinner, and special/catered events
  • Read and measure/mix ingredients according to recipe(s)
  • Prepare food and serve customers at an a la carte and/or operate a grill station, fryer, and other kitchen equipment
  • Attend work and shows for scheduled shift on time with satisfactory regularity
  • Maintain a clean and safe working environment
  • Follow food safety guidelines and procedures
  • Perform other duties as assigned based on business necessities and client requirements
