The Grill Cook position at Sodexo is a part-time role based at Henry Mayo Newhall Hospital. The shift schedule is varied and includes days and hours with a preference for candidates who have open availability. The pay range for this position is between $23.00 and $25.00 per hour. As a Grill Cook, you will be responsible for preparing and cooking nutritious, well-presented meals while maintaining the highest standards of safety and cleanliness. You will play a key role in minimizing food waste, ensuring accurate portion control, and providing excellent customer service to hospital patients, staff, and visitors.

In this role, attention to detail is critical as the Grill Cook handles various cooking methods including grilling, frying, and assembling meals for breakfast, lunch, dinner, and special catered events. You’ll be required to read and follow recipes carefully, measure and mix ingredients precisely, and operate kitchen equipment efficiently. Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred
  • 0 to 2 years of related experience beneficial
  • Ability to work varied shifts including days and hours with open availability preferred
  • Reliable and punctual with consistent attendance
  • Ability to stand for extended periods and perform physically demanding tasks
  • Must comply with food safety and sanitation regulations
  • Legal authorization to work in the United States

Job Qualifications

Job Duties

  • Accurately and efficiently prepare, portion, grill, and present a variety of hot and/or cold food items for various meal periods including breakfast, lunch, and dinner
  • Read and measure/mix ingredients according to recipes
  • Prepare food and serve customers at an a la carte station and/or operate grill station, fryer, and other kitchen equipment
  • Attend work and show up for scheduled shifts on time with satisfactory regularity
  • Maintain a safe and sanitary work environment by following proper food handling and safety procedures
  • Collaborate with team members to reduce food waste and ensure quality standards are met
  • Perform other duties as assigned to meet business and client needs
