The Grill Cook position at Sodexo, located at the Gilbarco HQ in Greensboro, offers a full-time opportunity with a competitive pay range between $16.00 and $19.00 per hour. This role focuses on preparing and cooking a wide variety of nutritious dishes, emphasizing efficiency, accuracy, and customer service. Working weekdays during morning and afternoon or evening shifts, the Grill Cook is an essential part of the food service team dedicated to reducing food waste and providing exceptional meals for breakfast, lunch, dinner, and special or catered events.

As a Grill Cook, you will work with passion and a customer-focused mindset, ensuring that every dish is prepared to meet high quality and presentation standards. The role requires hands-on food preparation, grilling, portioning, operating kitchen equipment like fryers, and possibly serving customers at an a la carte station. Flexibility and adaptability are important as duties may vary depending on client needs and business requirements. Being punctual and reliable is critical to maintaining smooth kitchen operations. Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Ability to work weekdays morning and afternoon/evening shifts
  • Strong communication skills
  • Ability to follow recipes and food safety guidelines
  • Ability to operate kitchen equipment safely
  • Physical ability to stand for extended periods and lift moderate weights
  • Punctuality and dependability

Job Duties

  • Accurately and efficiently prepare, portion, grill, and present a variety of hot and/or cold food items for various meal periods including breakfast, lunch, dinner, and special/catered events
  • Read and measure/mix ingredients according to recipe(s)
  • Prepare food and serve customers at an a la carte and/or operate a grill station, fryer, and other kitchen equipment
  • Attend work and show for scheduled shift on time with satisfactory regularity
  • Perform other duties as assigned depending on business necessities and client requirements
