The Grill Cook position at CAVA plays a pivotal role in delivering these exceptional experiences. Grill cooks are responsible for preparing top-quality dishes on an open grill station, maintaining food safety, and adhering to all sanitation standards to ensure every meal meets CAVA’s high standards. This role requires someone who thrives in a fast-paced environment, is detail-oriented, and dedicated to teamwork. The grill cook acts as a frontline ambassador in the kitchen, helping to create an atmosphere that turns casual diners into loyal fans through consistent, delicious meals. This position not only involves food preparation but also requires maintaining clean and organized workstations, restocking ingredients, and ensuring the kitchen operates efficiently during all shifts. Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Prior experience in restaurant or food preparation roles preferred
  • Ability to follow food safety and sanitation guidelines
  • Must be able to stand and/or walk for entire shifts
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds
  • Comfortable working in hot and cold kitchen environments
  • Good physical dexterity and hand-eye coordination
  • Must be able to work well with others in a team environment
  • Availability to work flexible hours including weekends and holidays

Job Qualifications

  • Prior experience in a grill cook or similar kitchen role preferred
  • Ability to follow recipes and quality standards consistently
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to food safety
  • Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment
  • Good communication and teamwork skills
  • Capacity to stand for extended periods and handle physical demands of the role
  • Flexibility to work various shifts including weekends and holidays

Job Duties

  • Observe food safety, sanitation, and quality procedures
  • Follow recipes and procedures to maintain food quality and consistency
  • Adhere to safety and sanitation procedures and all CAVA standards
  • Restock cook stations and keep them clean and organized
  • Stand and/or walk for an entire shift
  • This role is constantly in motion to deliver mind-blowing meals to our guests
  • Put deliveries away, plus any additional duties assigned
  • Ability to cross train across the restaurant to ensure rapid growth
  • May stand for long periods of time and lift up to 50 pounds
  • Assist with any additional duties assigned
