The Grill Cook role at Sodexo, based at Phoenix Children's Hospital, is a full-time position offering a pay rate of $18.00 per hour. The role primarily involves preparing and cooking nutritious grill items with a passion for food and a commitment to exceptional customer service. Grill Cooks are essential team players who help reduce food waste while preparing a variety of hot and cold dishes for different meal periods including breakfast, lunch, dinner, and special catered events. This position requires working morning shifts including varying days, some weekends, and holidays. As a Grill Cook, you will operate kitchen equipment such as grills and fryers, follow recipes precisely, and help ensure a safe and healthy working environment. You’ll interact warmly with customers and other team members, making their dining experience enjoyable and pleasant. Job Requirements
- Availability to work morning shifts including varying days, weekends, and holidays
- Ability to stand for extended periods
- Basic knowledge of kitchen safety and sanitation practices
- Reliable and punctual attendance
- Commitment to maintaining a healthy and safe work environment
Job Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred
- 0 to 2 years of related cooking or food preparation experience beneficial
- Ability to follow recipes and food safety guidelines
- Strong teamwork and communication skills
- Adaptability to varying work schedules including weekends and holidays
Job Duties
- Accurately and efficiently prepare food items for various meal periods including breakfast, lunch, dinner, and special events
- Read and measure or mix ingredients according to recipes
- Operate grill station, fryer, and other kitchen equipment
- Attend work and be punctual for scheduled shifts
- Maintain a clean and safe work environment
- Collaborate with team members to reduce food waste
- Perform additional duties as assigned based on business needs and client requirements
