The Grill Cook position based at Lehigh Valley Hospital - Cedar Crest presents an exciting opportunity for individuals passionate about culinary arts and customer service. This role is offered on a full-time or part-time basis with varying shifts, accommodating those with open availability. The pay range for this role is competitive, between $18 to $20 per hour, reflecting the skills and dedication required for the position. As a Grill Cook at Sodexo, you will be a key member of the kitchen team, responsible not just for preparing delicious and nutritious meals but also for contributing to sustainable practices such as food waste reduction.

Your daily duties will include accurately preparing, portioning, grilling, and presenting a variety of hot and cold food items across various meal periods such as breakfast, lunch, dinner, and catered events. You will follow recipes meticulously ensuring consistency and quality, and you may also interact directly with customers in an a la carte setting. Operating kitchen equipment like grills and fryers safely and efficiently will be part of your routine, as will maintaining punctuality and reliability by attending scheduled shifts on time. Job Requirements

  • high school diploma or equivalent preferred
  • 0-2 years of experience in a cooking or food preparation role beneficial
  • ability to work varying shifts including days and hours with open availability preferred
  • strong communication skills
  • ability to stand for extended periods

Job Duties

  • prepare, portion, grill, and present a variety of hot and cold food items for various meal periods including breakfast, lunch, dinner, and special or catered events
  • read and measure/mix ingredients according to recipes
  • prepare food and serve customers at an a la carte and/or operate grill station, fryer, and other kitchen equipment
  • attend work and show for scheduled shift on time with satisfactory regularity
  • perform other duties as assigned depending on business necessities and client requirements
