This full-time Grill Cook position at Sodexo, located at Lipscomb University, offers an opportunity to join a versatile team that is passionate about food preparation and customer satisfaction. As a Grill Cook, you will play a critical role in the culinary operations by accurately preparing, portioning, grilling, and presenting a diverse array of hot and cold food items. You will read and measure or mix ingredients according to recipes, operate essential kitchen equipment such as grills and fryers, and ensure that food is prepared safely and efficiently. Customer service is at the heart of the role, with your enthusiasm for food and positive attitude helping to brighten the dining experience for everyone served. Timeliness and reliability are crucial, as showing up for scheduled shifts on time with consistency supports smooth kitchen operations.

Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred
  • 0 to 2 years of related experience preferred
  • Ability to work varying shifts including weekends and holidays
  • Open availability preferred
  • Ability to stand for long periods
  • Food handler certification preferred but not required
  • Reliable transportation to work

Job Duties

  • Accurately and efficiently prepare portion grill and present a variety of hot and or cold food items for various meal periods including breakfast lunch dinner and special catered events
  • Read and measure mix ingredients according to recipe
  • May prepare food and serve customers at an a la carte and or operate a grill station fryer and other kitchen equipment
  • Attend work and show for scheduled shift on time with satisfactory regularity
  • Perform other duties as assigned based on business necessities and client requirements
