The Grill Cook position at Guadalupe Regional Medical Center in Seguin, TX, is a full-time role offering a competitive hourly wage ranging from $13.25 to $15.00. This role plays a vital part in ensuring patients and staff receive nutritious, delicious meals prepared with attention to detail and adherence to health and safety regulations. The schedule includes Monday through Wednesday from 7:00 am to 3:30 pm, and Saturday and Sunday from 6:00 am to 3:30 pm, allowing for a balanced work-life rhythm. The Grill Cook is responsible for preparing food items that require short preparation times, serving customers efficiently at multiple stations, and maintaining the quality, taste, and attractiveness of all dishes served. This position demands prior experience as a grill cook to effectively meet the fast-paced and quality-focused environment Morrison Healthcare upholds.

In this role, the Grill Cook will execute pre-approved recipes and production standards to ensure consistency, portion control, and serving temperatures that meet corporate and health standards. The job also involves rigorous sanitation practices including cleaning and sanitizing all assigned work areas and equipment, proper storage and rotation of food products, and compliance with safety procedures during all phases of food handling. The Grill Cook is tasked with maintaining excellent communication with co-workers, supervisors, and customers, resolving any concerns promptly, and contributing to a safe, welcoming work environment. Job Requirements

  • Prior experience as a grill cook
  • Ability to perform essential job functions satisfactorily with or without reasonable accommodation

Job Duties

  • Takes orders from customer and prepares items requiring short preparation
  • Completes orders from steam tables and serves customers at multiple stations
  • Serves customers in an efficient, friendly manner following established steps of service meeting outlined standards
  • Ensures food is at the correct temperature and is attractive and tasty
  • Tastes all prepared food items
  • Uses established ticket-collection procedures during service
  • Responsible for records from area worked during service periods
  • Uses approved recipes and production standards to ensure proper quality, serving temperatures and standard portion control
  • Carries pans, kettles and trays of food to and from workstations, stove and refrigerator in accordance with established safety standards
  • Stores foods in designated areas following standard wrapping, dating and food safety and rotation procedures
  • Cleans, sanitizes and maintains all assigned work areas, equipment and utensils to ensure sanitation standards are met
  • Resolves customer concerns and reports relevant information and concerns to supervisor
  • Attends in-service and safety meetings
  • Maintains good working relationships with coworkers, customers, administrators and managers
  • Performs job safely while maintaining a clean, safe work environment
  • Performs other duties as assigned
