Job Description

Hermes is a prestigious and historic luxury brand that has been dedicated to artisan craftsmanship and humanist values since its founding in 1837. As an independent family-owned company, Hermes is deeply committed to producing exquisite, well-crafted products that combine beauty, functionality, and longevity. With 42 workshops primarily in France and a global network of 310 stores across 49 countries, Hermes employs over 15,000 people worldwide, including more than 6,000 skilled artisans. This storied company is renowned for its tradition of creativity, innovation, and sustainable development efforts, all rooted in respect for authenticity and the preservation of natural resources. Hermes strives to leave a lasting positive impact on the world, embracing corporate social responsibility and fostering an inclusive workplace culture that values diversity, equality, and individuality.

The Hermes South Coast Plaza Boutique, opened in 1997 and a vital part of the Pacific West Region, embodies the house's commitment to extraordinary client service and an exceptional luxury retail experience. The boutique seeks a Greeter/Host to warmly welcome and assist clients as they enter the store, representing Hermes’ commitment to hospitality and impeccable service standards. Reporting to the Client Experience and Service Manager, the Greeter/Host plays a crucial role in shaping a positive first impression, ensuring that all visitors feel valued and attended to from their initial entrance through to their departure.

Responsibilities include greeting every guest warmly, acting as the boutique's host by modeling Hermes’ values, and guiding visitors to the appropriate areas or team members. The position demands excellent communication skills and the ability to manage difficult situations with grace and composure. The Greeter/Host also collaborates closely with selling, operations, and asset protection teams to coordinate appointments and manage client flow efficiently. This involves maintaining detailed daily calendars, handling appointment schedules and inquiries, and providing helpful services such as beverage offerings and escorting clients to their cars. The role requires a flexible schedule to meet business needs and a polished, hospitable approach in all client interactions.

Compensation for this role ranges from $26.00 to $28.00 per hour, reflecting the candidate’s experience and specific job factors. Hermes offers a comprehensive benefits package designed to support employees and their families, including medical, dental, and vision coverage; life insurance and disability benefits; paid time off; parental leave; retirement savings plans with company matching and profit sharing; and various voluntary benefits such as fitness reimbursements and flexible spending accounts. Additional perks include product discounts, employee assistance program resources, and wellness support through apps like Calm.

Hermes champions inclusivity and equal opportunity, with hiring and personnel practices conducted without discrimination based on race, color, religion, sex, age, disability, or other protected categories. The company also provides reasonable accommodations to qualified individuals with disabilities. This position offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to an esteemed global brand that respects tradition and innovation while providing a welcoming and memorable experience for every client.
