The Greeter position at Bass Pro Shops is a vital front-line role responsible for creating an outstanding first impression for customers as they enter the store. The primary objective of the Greeter is to provide an over-the-top customer service experience by warmly welcoming guests, offering helpful information, and supporting various front-end operational tasks. Greeters greet customers promptly and courteously, providing direction and promoting the store’s programs such as CLUB Membership, voice of customer initiatives, and in-store pickup options. It is essential that Greeters model the brand’s professional image by adhering to the dress code and maintaining an inviting demeanor including smiling, making eye contact, and using positive body language. Additionally, they assist with checking in merchandise for returns as well as managing visitor protocol for vendor representatives.
This role also involves supporting safety and store cleanliness, ensuring the entryway and surrounding areas remain tidy and safe for customers and staff. Greeters play a supportive role in firearm check-in processes by guiding customers to trained staff while never handling firearms themselves. The position requires a highly organized individual with excellent communication skills, a friendly and outgoing personality, and the ability to adapt to new procedures quickly. While performing the duties, Greeters stand and walk frequently, occasionally lifting merchandise and working in varying environmental conditions such as noisy, low, or high temperatures, and outdoor elements.

Job Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Experience in customer service
- Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing
- Capability to follow established procedures and use independent judgment when necessary
- Physical ability to stand and walk regularly, lift up to 50 pounds occasionally, and work in varying temperature and environmental conditions
- Willingness to adhere to professional dress code standards
- Comfort with interacting and engaging with customers in a friendly and outgoing manner
Job Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Experience in a customer service environment
- Excellent organization skills and attention to detail
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Adaptability to new processes and procedures
- Self-motivation and initiative while working unsupervised
Job Duties
- Greets all customers as they enter the store in a friendly and outgoing manner
- Actively promotes programs including but not limited to CLUB Membership, VOC and In-Store Pickup
- Models brand standard for customer service by adhering to dress code including wearing logo shirt and name badge, maintaining a professional image with a smile, eye contact, and welcoming body language
- Checks in all customers' merchandise for return
- Checks in all Vendor representatives, managing visitor logs and controlling visitor badges
- Remains aware of special store events and informs customers about sales and promotions while distributing promotional materials
- Ensures entryway and surrounding work area remain clean, tidy, and safe for customers and staff
- Assists in facilitating customer check-in of firearms/weapons by notifying designated Outfitter without handling firearms
- Performs all other duties as assigned
